Daylight Saving Time (DST)

Hi everyone,

I have an issue with Daylight Saving Time (DST) on my 3CX system.

• PBX timezone: UTC +4:00 (UAE)
• PBX time is correct
• Desk phones are showing time +1 hour ahead

I checked the phones and found DST enabled, even though UAE does not use DST.

The phones are automatically provisioned by 3CX, so manual phone changes are overwritten after reprovisioning.

I suspect the issue may be coming from the phone provisioning template or timezone template pushed by 3CX.

Has anyone faced this before or knows where to correctly disable DST for provisioned phones in UAE timezone?

Specific models and firmware version?

EOL = End Of Life models. Those no longer have updates, and they may have wrong DST settings as a result because no updates are release to fix the DST.

We also had this issue with some Yealink Phones that we had.

We contacted Yealink about it and they said it was a firmware bug and that it would be fixed for the next DST. The next NST came along as the issue happened again.

It could be a firmware issue with your devices.

1. X4U went EOL so no further updates are expected

2. X210-V2 shows correct time, upgrade your phones.

3. The same settings are shared by X303 and X210-V2, but the X303 shows wrong time for UAE.

This needs to be addressed by Fanvil via new firmware. We will inform Fanvil about this, but I strongly suggest as a Fanvil customer to also open a ticket with them so the process can be sped up

I think this issue is coming from 3CX provisioning itself.
Why can’t we control the DST setting directly from the 3CX management console, especially for countries like UAE where DST is not used?

Since the phones are auto-provisioned, any manual DST change on the phone gets overwritten after reprovisioning.

From my experiance its not 3cx. We tried to set DST within 3cx and even the Yealink Management profile (It changes the config profile that is attached) and we still had the issue.

The firmware was just overriding it for some reason.

However, it may be different for you as they are different phones, but defo worth raisig a case with Fanvil.
