Hi,

I have just deployed 3CX for one of our customers as a trial. I have set up the phones and they can dial out and receive incoming calls. However, all the DDIs go to one person, but they are set up differently on the inbound rules (please see attached). I have also swapped names around (changing Extension names, and then got them to reboot - not sure if this caused the issue) - but since then I am now getting duplicate devices, but when I refresh the page they disappear but then come back moments later. (See Screenshot)

Please can someone assist? :)

You've not sent a screenshot of your inbound rules. You've only sent a screenshot of the DDI's that are going to come in to your trunk. Once you've added a DDI to your trunk you can select that number from the inbound rules page then specify where they go.

Yes I have done that, sorry just did not include the screenshot!

It says end destination cannot be reached, contact administrator

I have just set up a test phone in the office, and changed the DDI phone to the office phone but it is still calling Sarah! So confusing....

Is Sarah the destination for the main number?

And what trunk provider do you currently use?

Hello @jskinner97

Regarding the duplicate entries of the phones, you haven't specified how your PBX is installed but judging from the first screenshot the phones seem to be remote to the PBX and using STUN. If that is the case you need to assign different SIP and RTP ports to each device and port forward those ports to the local IP of your phones.

Yes, that is correct I was using STUN. Thanks, I will read into that.

Please reset and reprovision the extensions to solve this first issue (so they can take calls in the first place)

Then also check our Voiceflex guide to ensure it is configured properly and the numbers have been added as E.164 the way the provider expects them otherwise they will not be recognised https://www.3cx.com/docs/uk-sip-trunk-voiceflex/

I have already followed this guide and they are set up correctly on the numbers side. I have reset one device but the same issue occurs, they are all using the RTP 14000-14019 for all phones - surely they do not have to all be different?

Yes they all have to be completely different. For example:

Ext1 has SIP port 5065 RTP Ports 14000 to 14019
Ext2 has SIP port 5066 RTP Ports 14020 to 14039
Ext3 has SIP port 5067 RTP Ports 14040 to 14059

These ports must then be forwarded on the router/firewall to each phone IP respectively.

All the above can be completely avoided if you choose to run an SBC (even if on a small Raspberry Pi 3B+). It will also encrypt traffic, and enable easy remote provisioning of the phones as extra perks.

Also, I think the DID list does not look like it is in E.164, this might cause an issue in the PBX recognizing them if the provider sends them in one form, but you entered them in another form.

Hi,

Thank you for clarifying! Just moved from another platform, where we did not have to have individual ranges etc. So I will look into that.

I have set it as E.164 format on the Voiceflex (call forward is in place, thats why there are two screenshots).... would it need to be +44xxxx instead of 012xxxx on the 3CX side too?

Thanks :)

Yes, basically the PBX will look at the invite from the provider, and match it exactly with what you have in your trunk settings otherwise it will not be recognized as a DID you own. From the the guide:

"Here you should already see 1 entry that is the Main Trunk number you have set. Add all other DIDs/Number must be inserted in the E.164 including the plus sign (e.g. +442033272020) and press OK once you have finished."

Here is some info on our SBC if you wish to take the hassle of STUN out of the way.

I forgot to mention that it also acts as a countermeasure to SIP-ALG (that may interfere with signalling) an removes the port forwarding requirement. If you decide to install one and need any additional help, feel free to ask :)

In you Voiceflex panel have you got your formatting set to national DDI or are you sending the SIP ID on each number?
