We've got a local 3CX server and are now experimenting with 3CX on a remote server.

Locally, phones are discovered by 3CX and can be assigned to an extension. However, remotely, since the phones are the wrong side of the router, they won't be discovered.

What's the 3CX cloud way of discovering phones on a network? Is an agent installed somewhere this side of the border to discover phones and report to 3CX in the cloud? Or must each phone be manually provisioned?

Any advice appreciated :D

Using an SBC at the remote site will make the phones appear in the phone page!

Or if they are the recommended phones (like Yealink) and you configure them as STUN they will RPS which is a fancy way of saying they will find the server automatically if you factory default them. Provided you are on reasonably current firmware

The best is going to be with a BSC (Border Session Controller).

We recommend using a raspberry pi. Cheap and effective. Much more reliable than its windows counterpart.
