Now that several SIP providers offer SMS texts to DIDs which can be routed to email or another SMS number...is it worth looking into cutting the umbilical cord on cell phone providers forcing a minutes plan? Looking to save our clients money on corporate cell phone plans by porting their cell phone numbers to DIDs, then have them use SMS DID (to email) and the 3cx softphone app for phone calls? And perhaps just have all their cell phones on a data only (no minutes) cell provider. Seems like we could save everyone a boatload of money. Curious if anyone has implemented this and what their success rates were. TIA!
