Hi,

The title says it all ... with scheduled backups activated and multiple clients to manage, we are being bombarded with emails. We should have the option of only receiving emails when an error happens.

multiple successful emails for backup & restore for failover scenario each day is tiresome

Please progress this, all the e-mails are a pain in the **s.

3CX Just listen to your customers, give them a choice.
Or let us just change the backup email adres, so we can make our own mailbox for this.
We receiving everyday 50 email from backups that are succesfull, it puts a big load to delete or set them on read.

Your not thinking in the way customers with a big load of customers do.
How hard can it be.

'In Consideration' ?, This is an obvious one to implement.
Make it so the admin can enable how they want the alerts (All, None, Failed)

3 years later still no change? thats ridiculous. is 3cx not aware of it? did they forget about it? or why is such simple change in notification not possible?

we want to get an notification when something fails, not spammed every day when everything is fine - that makes no sense at all.

Totally wanted

We need the option, the decision should be up to the operator/organization.

Its the PBX that cried wolf.

It really waters down the whole notification system and makes one more likely to ignore them. That in itself makes the PBX less secure and reliable if people are being bombarded with the same notifications over and over. Its just human nature.

I just stumbled upon this thread. Im now contemplating less frequent backups or even a different PBX if I cant find a way to keep these notifications under control. This is downright ridiculous.

3cx, I have a customer waiting for this feature. He's actually about to change systems over it!

It would certainly be great to have more control over email notifications, for instance some notifications might be more relevant to go to certain people/contacts and thus having single contact address for all notifications doesn't work.

In the meantime to avoid losing your customer maybe you could setup some email filters/rules that would route and filter out various messages. A single G Suite mailbox subscription would probably do this for you if you don't have your own email platform, and at £5ish per month would probably be better than losing that customer. (it's what we have done until the function is added).

Dave.

Hi dave, to be clear I wont be losing the customer but they will be leaving 3cx.

They don't want to go thru all of that specially when there are systems that have a checkbox just for that. -- There are people on the list that rules will not work for in all use cases (ticketing systems, etc)

Makes sense. I have seen a few hints on the road map (reading between the lines) that we may one day see this additional functionality, but not anytime soon sadly :-(

I am strongly against it. Not getting a mail is not equal it is working. Only confirmation of a successful backup is proof that it works. Otherwise, your SMTP settings can eat up the mail telling you it is not working but you assume that not getting a mail is a sign of being ok

@StefanW It appears you found the function to disable the notifications for this post...what a nice feature wouldn't you say?
