Recently I upgraded to the latest version and everything is working except I cant download older recordings from the 3cx console. Inside the recordings window, I can see the history for all the recordings but when I click download, it reports no such file or directory. Recordings are stored locally for one week and then archived via FTP to a network drive. Recordings that were archived after the upgrade are downloadable but all older recordings while are visible in the archive location cannot be downloaded. WHY? and how to fix? Seems like some kind of indexing problem.

Also, within the 3cx app, it takes a very long time to populate recording files.

Hello Allan,

Which version did you upgrade from? Also did you un-install and re-install the system at some point?

If you went from 15.5 to 16 there is a procedure that needs to be run to sync the recordings. Depending on how the upgrade was done (hence the question by YiannisH_3CX above) this may have been skipped. You can do it manually though to re-index the existing recordings by doing the following:
  1. Going to Settings > Parameters and creating a parameter (if it doesn't already exist) called RECS_SYNC_REQUIRED, then set the value to 1
  2. The system is now ready to re-discover the recordings. Just head to the dashboard and click Convert Recordings

This will index whatever exists in the recordings folder (provided the filenames have not been altered from the originals)

Just out of curiosity - Does this convert FTP location too?

This converts the current recordings folder contents, and will normally run once when upgrading an existing 15.5SP6 to V16

It does not appear to convert the ftp folder location. What is the process to unarchive and reindex the files? 3cx points to the right location and I can see the file in windows explorer but 3cx reports that there is is no such file....

Please clarify first the following:

1. "I cant download older recordings from the 3cx console" - Which 3CX version where they made on?

2. "I can see the history for all the recordings but when I click download, it reports no such file or directory" - Do those still appear AFTER running recordings syncing?

3. "Recordings are stored locally for one week and then archived via FTP to a network drive" - Done via the 3CX 'Enable Remote Archiving' feature?

4. "Recordings that were archived after the upgrade are downloadable but all older recordings while are visible in the archive location cannot be downloaded" - When you say visible in the archive location, do you mean visible in the management console or in the actual FTP server's drive?
