Hi all,

Getting really fed up with the amount of cold callers latetly. I'm guessing my details have been sold away, and I'm getting anywhere up to 20 calls a day from these people.
Although I can stick them on hold to a point that they get fed up and hang up eventually, what I'd ideally like to do is transfer them somewhere that just plays the hold music and frees up my line while they sit there listening to our hold music.
Is there any easy way of configuring this?

There's no real way to block these directly because they often use local numbers so you'll affect customers.

I think the simplest solution I've done is to do into an IVR. That stops 99% of them.

If you don't want to send them to an IVR that requires the input of a digit, to continue (which a bot can't do), then the next best thing is to just hang up on them. Anything that puts them on hold still ties up an incoming trunk, which is especially concerning if they are not flat-rate. Blocking Caller ID is usually ineffective as it will usually change almost minute to minute.

Due to the fact that a lot of the robo-callers and spam callers use fake caller ids, I have found that putting calls to an IVR, and drop calls after no input, is the best way to handle this. This may not work for everyone as others have different requirements or needs.
