Hi,

I've set up the new integration with Dynamics 365 CRM as per the link https://www.3cx.com/docs/dynamics-crm-integration/

How do I sync CRM contacts with 3CX?
Would the previous functionality of Journalling, Creating new contacts if not found and etc be available?

From what I can see, the desktop client no longer has the Microsoft Dynamics option under Advanced Settings > Integration. Should we be using the the webclient?

Hello @Jarren Ong,

How do I sync CRM contacts with 3CX?
When you receive an external call, 3CX will check if the caller number is in 3CX Contacts, and if not it will query Dynamics 365 Online in order to get the contact details. This new contact will be inserted in 3CX Contacts, and you will see the caller name on your extension.

Would the previous functionality of Journalling, Creating new contacts if not found and etc be available?
Not at the moment, we will be adding these features later, but for now only contact lookup is available.

From what I can see, the desktop client no longer has the Microsoft Dynamics option under Advanced Settings > Integration. Should we be using the the webclient?
Yes, you need to use the 3CX Web Client to see the open contact button, and be able to open the contact record in your browser.

Kind regards.

Thanks for the reply @edossantos

Is the desktop client no longer usable with Dynamics 365? We want to use these functionality if it's still there.
Also, from what I've read, the API is private and a public one is not out yet.

Hello @Jarren Ong,

The client side integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM is still available because on-premise installations can't use the server side approach, you should see it in your 3CX console.

However, please note that we will not be providing any fix or update to it, and probably it will be definitively removed. So we strongly encourage you to move to the server side approach.

Kind regards.

Hi @edossantos

The desktop client doesn't seem to have the Microsoft Dynamics CRM option in Advanced Settings > Integration as opposed to
Code:
https://www.3cx.com/user-manual/dynamics-crm-integration/ - document no longer exists
.

You need to download the plugin from the 3CX Console > Settings > CRM Integration > Client side tab, and then apply it to your extension in the 3CX Console > Extension settings > Integration tab.
