New AI features to be part of Enterprise Edition - Pricing readjustment 15%.

Last week’s update - 3CX AI The Next Chapter - is a game changer and marks the beginning of where we’re headed next. We’re readying many new features leveraging AI. In the past year alone, we’ve delivered transcription and analytics as well as ...

I know this is enterprise AI pricing with the FUP, but is this going to apply to the Pro license as well, in regard to having to up the SC to cover users?
We have a Self-host 8SC Pro system now, with 117 "Users." We have an answering service that was 24-hours but now calls get forwarded after-hours to another answering service, and all but 22 of the "users" are numbers that get forwarded. They get forwarded to the operator, with the Caller ID being the callee number, so that the operator knows what business was called.

Do I need to change all of these "Users" to a CFD that does the forwarding when someone calls the DID?

Short answer, yes. The AI features are a different issue/change.

3CX has said they won't limit anything until at least April.

Does anyone know offhand of a community (or dedicated forum spot) resource for viewing call flow app scripts? Quite often I see people asking the same question on how to do XYZ, then they get a response to do so via a call flow app, they say they will do so/did so and then the cycle repeats when the next person asks

Quite a few of the worries I see voiced are on the use of a dummy extension to achieve _____ and the common consensus is to do so via call flow app or CFD but in most cases there isn't a follow up on what they did to migrate the functionality

As I understand it - please correct me if I’m wrong:
I assume the new operator is external, a different company with a different phone system.
That means you want that when someone calls one of your DID, the call is forwarded to the external operator showing the original caller’s number who calls you, correct?

Then why don’t you route any number of DIDs to a single dummy extension, set that dummy extension to DND, and have it forward the calls via SIP 302 to the external operator?
Wouldn’t that be a solution for you?

There is the Call Flow Designer subforum.

There isn’t one standard solution for different tasks. For recurring tasks and corresponding user questions, links are often provided to existing solutions in the forum - if there some and they are found (btw.: search in the german forum about Schnipsel :) ).

The most important thing, as always, is to have a clear plan of what you want to achieve and then choose the right tool for it. Not everything is possible, but a lot is. Quite often, the built-in 3CX tools are sufficient - you just need to know them and use them correctly.

In the end, CFD apps and call scripts aren’t a universal solution.

The fact is that the CFD is a no-code toolkit for programmers, allowing you to easily create custom applications - CFD Apps - without requiring extensive programming knowledge. Writing call scripts in C#, on the other hand, is more complex. You really need to know how to program, and while the required knowledge is greater, so are the possibilities.

The call scripts provided by 3CX are often just examples that you have to adapt yourself. That’s also stated in the explanations. For this purpose, there is documentation. Fully ready-made call scripts - such as holiday.cs - are exceptions that prove the rule.

This task is easily automated using a call script and it will be much more manageable. We created this forum
https://www.3cx.com/community/forums/marketplace/

To allow customers and partners to sell and purchase services around this.

Also I have not tried yet myself but the call scripts are standard .Net and I wonder if using chatgpt you can not get very far indeed if you feed it the other scripts we have made. If you describe the use case in more detail I might ask one of our devs to make a sample script to work from.....

And I believe in some cases you might have issues over time with modifying the caller ID on the outbound line in this manner.

I want the outboundCallerID to show as the DID that was called, not the caller ID of who is calling. This is why we have users for each line, so that we can set an outbound callerID

More of a sanity check here:
I self host/manage our 4SC instance, and pay a yearly fee, which is fine.
Any changes to this arrangement that I need to be aware of?

Trying to catch up on some of this stuff in the down time. Sorry if this is covered elsewhere but the search terms I'm coming up with are not helping.
Is the cost of the AI agents including in the ENT/AI and Ent + licenses? Or will there be an additional cost for the AI agents (published or still in the works)?

Why not just forward those DIDs at your SIP provider, so that they don't even hit 3CX and thus avoid any FUP issues?

Otherwise, if you need more advanced routing, reporting, etc, then you are wanting the features of 3CX and should therefore pay for them...

This is just my 2 cents worth, I may have misunderstood your question/requirements.

So to recap
A. All AI agents and any AI technology we are developing will be included in the ENT edition. This includes additional AI agents, but also real time conversation monitoring etc. However you still need to pay OpenAI for the usage of the platform, this is separate and billed directly to you by OpenAI. OpenAI is more expensive at this point but keep in mind its voice technology is further ahead than other platforms so it works better then others (it has webRTC support integrated which is huge for 3CX)

B. ENT+ is only for smaller customers that don't want to setup a separate machine with GPUs. Its purely the transcription which we do on cloud machines from Amazon, Google etc. So there is a real cost to us. It contains no other features. As a reseller having your own machine with GPUs could be interesting because you can offer it as a value add to your customers on multi tenant if you have them.

Hope this helps! Merry Xmas and Happy new year!

@N_G thank you for the very helpful response, I appreciate it.
Does that mean Call Summary and Call Sentiment will only work if Call Recording Transcriptions are enabled? Assuming so, do those 2 items come from OpenAI or 3CX?
What I'm trying to determine, if the customer does not have an onboard GPU, but does want Summary/Sentiment, would we get an ENT/AI license and utilize/pay OpenAI or would we get ENT+ and use 3CX? Or would both routes work?

AI Summary/Sentiment is dependant on both call recordings and transcription.

If you use ENT/AI: you can use the OpenAI/Google/3CX AI (Self-Hosted) platforms to get those.
If you use ENT+: you can use the 3CX AI Cloud platform, or any of the other ones.

Thanks @N_G and @ConceptsWeb The right license and associated cost is not an issue. I was just trying to understand so that I can offer the right solution. I'm excited to start promoting the AI services to our clients in 2026 and am delighted that this will be a built in service.

The part I'm unsure about is, if they go with ENT+ and use 3CX Transcription, will Call Summary/Sentiment work? Or, even if on ENT+, do we still need to rely on/pay OpenAI to provide those aspects.

If we can offer transcription with summary/sentiment based on the price of the ENT+ license and not have to consider OpenAI costs for that specific service, it makes it a little easier to understand what the cost will be.

Of course, we'll also be promoting AI agents and the customer will need to be prepared for the OpenAI costs associated with that.
