Hi all, I've been reading through multiple threads but could not find an answer to our issue. Maybe someone could help, please?
We had a colleague with an extension 0012. After she had left, we deleted the extension and removed her from all call queues, ring groups etc. (interestingly, she was still available in all of those, even though we deleted her from the Extensions).
Now, that we have a new colleague that we would like to add to the the system, using the extension 0012, the system does not let us proceed and a message "Given DN number cannot be used" pops up. It seems like the previous colleague is still somewhere in the system and we do not know how to delete her account completely.
P.S. Some old forums suggest going to Settings-->PBX-->Operator Extensions but nothing like that exists in our Settings :/
Many thanks for any advice.

is 0012 the default operator extension?

Are you on V18 pbx release ?

We're on V16 Update 8A FINAL

after deletion 0012 is always active ? do you have several devices on same extension? for example a deskphone and mobile App ? or webclient ?
Are you able to call 0012 from another extension once deletion has been done ?

did you try to restart the PBX after 0012 deletion ?
Is there a local PBX or Cloud? is it Debian or Windows? is it running on a VM or computer?

We do not have a local PBX in the office. We use the 3CX app on our smartphones only. The thing is our 3CX is hosted by a local distributor (because there is no option to be 3CX-hosted in Austria, unfortunately), who is totally unresponsive, i.e. they never answer our questions when we need help. Sorry, didn't mean to complain about it here, but it got to be so frustrating that we seek help from you guys here, as you are our only and last resort. All that said, I have no clue how they are hosting us, unfortunately. When we call 0012, it goes straight to voicemail.

In Austria , are you unable to host by yourself on AWS or OVH or ..... lots of supported providers ?
for 3CX hosted even if Austria is not directly available perhaps you can choose another location near yours. I Have cloud pbx hosted thousand kms from me and there's no problem.

To focus on your 0012 problem, Are you sure your 3CX admin account is the main one ?
