In V18 we were able to use the "Ring mobile simutaneously" option with an external number in the mobile number field and send multiple calls at once out to that number, all while maintaining our ability to record those calls.

In V20 it seems if we use the "also ring my mobile" option it does for the first call, but the second call is dumped to the "unanswered calls" before the timeout even begins. This has forced us to set it up to forward to external number which seems to work for multiple calls at once, but they are no longer recorded at all.

The only option I see here is to record the calls at the trunk level, which is an option - albeit not the option we would prefer, but it is an option. Is there a combination of settings that I am missing on this one?

HI @VISA MC

This behavior has not changed from V18 to V20.
When you have "Ring mobile simultaneously" enabled, even if the extension receiving the call has "Accept multiple calls" enabled, only one call will be made to the mobile at any given time.
This is the same in V18 and V20.

I just reactivated my V18 server and confirmed this was setup the same way before and can see from call logs and recordings that multiple calls were forwarded to the third party at the same time.

The other issue with using external number is we cannot monitor it. When it was setup with mobile, we could monitor that we had a call in progress to the third party using BLF.

Would I in theory be able to create 3-4 extensions all forwarding to mobile, all using the same mobile number and put them into a ring group? This way if the first call is in progress it wouldn’t the second one and forward accordingly or does 3CX check for duplicates on the mobile number field?

I don't know what the exact setup you had was in V18 but I have tried the sipmle scenario of having 2 inbound calls to an extension with "Ring my mobile simultaneously" on a test V18 system and had the same result as in V20. Only the first was sent to the mobile.

You could have multiple extensions in a RG and all have Ring my mobile. I just tried this on the latest version of V20 (Released today: https://www.3cx.com/blog/releases/v20-update-2/) and it works.
