Hi

We installed 3CX a few weeks back for a trial and after more webinar training we have realised that we didn't set some key information up during the installation process. We decided to uninstall and install again to correct the information.

However during the "re-install" we didn't get the FQDN prompts (eg "I need a 3CX FQDN" & "I have my own FQDN" which unfortunately is one of the settings we did wrong within the first installation.

How can we change this? - I'm aware that looking at the PBX now, it says that "It can not be changed afterwards", which is fine but we've completely started over again, so I'd like to have that reset - I'd imagine it's probably held at 3CX ??

Hope someone can help please?

Steve

If you restored from a backup with FQDN you won't be prompted. If you want to choose a new FQDN you have to take a backup with out key/FQDN and then uninstall. Log into the customer portal to release the FQDN and then you can install and choose a new one.

Thank you for replying cobaltit. I didn't restore from a backup, simply uninstall and re-install. It's only a test set up at the moment so no need to save any extension information etc.

I'll have a look at the releasing FQDN suggestion you've made, I've had a quick look and can see that it's possible in the customer portal - keys section. I'll post the results for others if successful.

Hi Steve,

You probably already have a FQDN bound to your key. This can be seen and released from the customer portal by clicking "manage" in the keys section.

Then, at your next installation attempt, the system will see that there is no FQDN bound and will prompt you.
