a few of 3CX install we manage are on free standard license. I don't see any free license available apart from the hosted startup? is free license no longer available for self managed and on premise 3CX installs?

Well its fairly simple here in the UK - We are competing with BT and others on these smaller installations. So based on 2 users

BT charging £10.50 per user - so 2 Users £21

3cx License £10.83
SIP Trunk £4.50
Our own Hosting we estimate to be around £5.00

So If we provide at the same price we make £0.67pm

Struggling to see the point, just let BT have it and if the customer grows well done BT.

But its no problem for us we will just concentrate on the larger companies for 3cx where ecomonies of scale work and utilise wholesale providers to provide comms for the smaller companies.

so even a 0 simultaneous call option won't be free to run 3cx local anymore, i just need one line for my alarm sensors on ata to dial my phone incase my homeassistant does not . local. the whole idea about running it on homeserver is if anything cuts of the internet but not my power things are still logged here. i can also connect to the local ip of the pbx , over 4g modem at home trough cloudflare zero trust when my cable is out for some reason. itl take me much work and hours to change to an alternative wich i'l never like as much as the ease and comfort of 3cx. the web only version offered now later is not the right kind for my application can you make a limited home version wich is 'crippled' (restricted) the other way around vs cloud. as i've also never in lotta years have entered a support ticket its hard to comprehend since it sayd perpetual earlier initially and now because of shifted functionality that changed.

This is for free, so you cant call anyone anymore.. :-D If you just need one line for your home assistant or alarm stuff, i would have a look for some other solution.

The biggest problem is that Vietnamese SIP trunk providers do allow national IP addresses only, while 3CX hosted instances IP addresses are in Singapore. We are fine with all the features and limitations of the FREE offer, but the hosted ones will not work here.

sorry had a tough day overreacted a little, but in my usecase indeed if the phone just rings it is enough.because the ring group has a phone connected to my home automation so i can followup the whatabouts. this al locally without internet. internet only when it is up on external ip, or to the local address by vpn. then it also rings the app on my mobile.. if this is 1 or 0 sc i dont know. i cannot talk to the pstn alarm ata obv, but i know when it is triggered. i suppose if local it keeps working like this but there are no security updates after it expires i'm in the water and will (have to ) discard eventually anyway. for a 1 sc perpetual i would pay a one time fee but preferably not a subscribtion, unles it is like 10-15 $ a year like a domain name. i agree i'm a specific (but in my situation very practical) user and probably not need to be acknowledged much in this discussion ;)

I would have a look at freepbx or a fritzbox or something else. That is more the solution you are looking for.

the fritzbox is a client not a sip server, am already using those. maybe i'l save up for a grandstream box. already have a be-ip plus from bintec elmeg too i once purchased as a backup, but it is not intuitive like 3cx

i was not aware it could also handle sip ip phones aside of the dect and analog line, this solves my problem if 3CX would change, thanks so much !

figured out fritzbox cannot do more than register an ata on/from lan/wan as if it was a handset, and let cals go trough to a telephone number. you'd stil need a sip account/server to dial out from the fritz, cause. , it does not make a selectable useable telephone number for the ata's or handsets unles there is a sip provider or 3cx account set for outgoing calls, only then it uses that for one of these outgoing numbers and logs calls. so turns out not a way out for me, since like 3cx can easy Make a telephone number and let connect and call and graph anything internally and from external to it, the fritz cannot it can only forward the self made numbers out,or they do not log
thus, evenit can give the handsets a number, seemed okay, but they are not able to make calls to eachother only out to somewhere, unles i use the automatic generated ** internal numbers, wich are not monitorable /configurable with dial rules etc like normal calls and thus impractical /unuseable for my use

OK Just to confirm, we will extend all free license keys issued before 2023 with same feature set and sim calls until 31/12/23 free of charge in the next few months. Only requirement is that the license is properly registered in customers name. We will extend them for at least another year until 31/12/2024 and announce our exact plans before 30/06/23.

You can screenshot this post if you like. We will make an official announcement soon.
How the StartUP will manage calls from a local analog gateway when internet is offline?

There is no option to connect an analog gateway in a 3CX FREE or SMB system.

(my emphasis)

TBH, I still don't understand exactly what is going to happen (long term) with my free pre 2023 4sc self hosted instance of 3cx.

I love 3cx, it is a great product, but this is a hobby project for me: I don't conduct many phone calls and most calls I receive I get on my mobile. So...

Anyway, can someone please point me to where the exact plans have been laid out? (This thread would have been a good place to at least put a link.)

You will be able to keep using it for the forseeable future as long as its correctly registered. If you do not have an error message you are all good.

Cool. Got it. Thank you!

Nick, you may have made me a very happy person with this comment!

I am in a similar situation as MucCX, and riding out a BroadVoice contract that ends in June 2024.

My license looks properly registered in y profile, but says it will expire January 2nd of 2024. If it renews long enough to get me into June 2024, I'll be able to move on with minimal dollar loss.

Glad to hear that !

June no problem, we hope you will be on 3Cx for much longer than that...

I have to check the dates but its just because they will get renewed in intervals like the SSL certs of letsencrypt do....
