Free version expiring..

I just received an email the email that my key is expiring and I will need to buy one. I thought I was on a free edition already that was perpetual. I love using the PBX and wouldn't mind purchasing but the cost is a little too high for what I use it for. I don't need the 16 SC version, just 4 to 6 SC is perfect. But I do need to have multiple SIP trunks and Digital Receptionist.

What exactly will happen when my key "downgrades to free mode"? What will I lose?

Your license key is about to expire on 29/04/2020 22:14:42 (-04:00). If you do not renew your license your PBX will be downgraded to Free mode and certain features will be disabled.

Renew your license from your 3CX Customer Portal (https://customer.3cx.com/) under the buy option.

Also, my license screen shows 2022 as expiration..

It says your license is being downgraded so the expiring is either Pro to Std or 16 SC to 8SC depending on where you are in the the license lifetime.. The features included with each version are listed here:

You will simply be downgraded to Standard 8SC in the worst case which should be enough for your needs based on what you said and has already happened based on the screenshot. You can always upgrade in the future if need be.
