Hi all, so I ended up getting the phones working, but I could not go from 1.07 to 1.09 (3cx) I had to update to 1.08 first. Apparently this is a fairly well complained about issue on the grandstream forums. So I setup a tftp, I dropped 1.08 from grandstream all the 2140's and 2170s updated with their firmware, I then swapped out for the 3cx 1.09.127 version and rebooted all the phones and 20 min later everything was downloaded and updated. Now when I assign the phone to the extension the config works and phone reboots and all is well with the world.
So my guess here is that the issue is that the grandstream will not update from 1.07 to 1.09 , and thats why they did not attach to 3cx extension even though they got the config they would fail/ignore the firmware. (this is an assumption but would make sense). The fanvils we have are able to jump multiple version without issue thats why they showed up and rolled right in no problem.
