Hi All,

We've recently discovered that contacts listed only with a 'Company' name show up in the phone book as "None" and then the mobile number - which if left empty, will also say "None"

Yes, you could enter it as a First name, but this seems like something that should be a feature.
If the First and Last name field is empty, use the 'Company' name.
Same goes for if the company doesn't have a mobile number, display the Business number instead.

You are right, the only contact fields the IP Phones use are the First Name, Last Name and mobile number fields so what you are seeing is actually normal. You could simply export the contacts as a .csv file,(make a backup of it) modify it so that all numbers are set in the mobile field and names are in the First and Last name fields, delete all contacts in 3CX and then import the new file.

Hi Chris,

I can't say that is an ideal fix for us providers with multiple instances. Even so, customers would still enter new business contacts as they normally would.

Since this limitation only exists on the IP Phones you might want to consider using the 3CX Clients instead (3CX Windows App or 3CX Webclient), or even use them in conjunction with the IP Phones.
