I've recently set up 3CX on a windows machine and have got it up and running however I can't get anything to work. When I scan the QR code with the app it'll work but never says connected it just says connecting in the top corner forever. I believe I have set up all the necessary port forwards but not 100% sure. I have also tried to connect an IP phone with no luck

You can run the firewall checker on the Dashboard to see if your port configuration is correct. It will tell you if some ports are misconfigured.

3cx sip server and full cone test failed unsure how to fix both

3CX HTTPS*5001192.168.1.3:5001WAN
3cx 1*2528192.168.1.3:2528WAN
3cx 2*5090192.168.1.3:5090WAN
3cx 3*5015192.168.1.3:5015WAN
3CX RTP*9000192.168.1.3:9000WAN
3CX SIP*5060192.168.1.3:5060WAN
3CX SIPS*5061192.168.1.3:5061WAN
3CX Tunnel*5090192.168.1.3:5090WAN

Those are all my current port forwards

Yes i have all of those set

Did you turn off sip alg?

ive restarted the computer and now cant get the 3cx server to launch

3CX is only supported on a dedicated machine. What else is installed on there?

nothing but 3cx

when i turn on the computer it wont start up

Can you check the windows event log ? There is probably some entry there...

ok i have it all back up again. was wondering if i had to do something with windows defender/firewall im using windows 10 pro

  • testing 3CX SIP Server... failed (How to resolve?)
    • stopping service... done
    • detecting SIP ALG... not detected
    • testing port 5060... full cone test failed (How to resolve?)
    • starting service... done
  • testing 3CX Tunneling Proxy... failed (How to resolve?)
    • stopping service... done
    • testing port 5090... full cone test failed (How to resolve?)
    • starting service... done
  • testing 3CX Media Server... failed (How to resolve?)

Get a partner, at this point it's better.

Turn off the Windows 10 firewall entirely, then provided that your port forwards on the router are ok, you can run the test again.

- Disable Win 10 firewall entirely for all interfaces
- If you installed any 3rd party software at all, especially antivirus etc, remove it and reboot
- Remove 5015 and 2528, they are not needed - read the notes to learn why
- Disable SIP and H.323 in your Conntrack modules

I have done all that still doesn't seem to be working

Hi @Spottyjarl

Full cone test failed = the test could not be completed (ie. a sign that the communication between the PBX and the outside world is blocked). The checker not passing will mean that you will face issues with remote clients (3CX apps or remote deskphones) and also you will have trouble with your trunk provider for making external calls.

I still think you are facing firewall issues here, so if this is giving you too much trouble I would suggest the following solutions:

a) Use a 3CX Partner to help you set your system up, they can have you up and running in no time

b) Deploy in the cloud using Hosted by 3CX or a supported cloud solution thus skipping the firewall entirely

c) If you specifically need a local PBX, you could also try the 3CX Debian ISO on a local machine or VM, this will at least eliminate Windows as one possible culprit, but I still think you issues are most likely firewall related and in that case this will still not be a solution
