Thanks for feedback!
Which language was Siri configured? I tried in english US both cases you mentioned and both were handled properly.

English and the problem was getting SIRI to approve/accept the 3cx. It worked fine after Approved.

Hello,

We are in the process of experimenting wit 3cx to replace are system and I was asked to participate in the trial. Do I need an invitation to try the alpha/beta iOS apps?

I would use the published app versions and not the alpha/beta apps unless you specifically need the Siri integration.

I'll be wanting to test the accessibility side of the app focusing on hands free options like Siri

hands free options like Siri
Sorry, I don't understand - how you can control an app in a hands-free way otherwise than using Siri?

I am not meaning exclusively using Hands-Free but there are ways with technology like Eyegaze, allowing the eyes to control everything. we have that working with Windows and Android. I think for iOS there is Skyle for iPad Pro.

Anyway, Back to my original question?

Our next step will be CarPlay support; if its certification will require such features as those you mentioned, we'll implement them accordingly, otherwise they will be postponed for discussion with no ETA.

I know this post is a bit dated, but I am wondering if anyone else is having trouble with Siri recognizing 3CX commands at all. She doesn't seem to recognize 3CX as an app. I have tried about every variation of "open 3CX", "call 771 using 3CX", "dial 771 using 3CX", "use 3CX to dial 771". At best, she gets confused and tries to dial 771 using the native phone. Mostly she refers me to the App Store to find a suitable app.

I have made sure the Siri integration is turned on in Settings. Anyone have any idea what I am missing?

I am running v18.0.1.128 fresh from Test Flight.

Thanks for any guidance anyone has.

I see a statement that Siri can not be used to make calls on an iPad. Is this an Apple prohibition for market segmentation at work here or some voluntary limitation in the 3CX app? The app works great on my iPad for making calls and the idea is to ditch the second device (phone).

@dnendza can you provide us the iOS version and a short screen recording as a demo? Would be extremely useful - 3CX client has no restriction for iPads, the "restriction" comes from the iOS since the iPad has no telephony support, therefore there is no "call" command. But maybe they - Apple - improved this.

Me I tried on my iPad Pro 3rd generation (has SIM card), running iPadOS 15.1 Beta, and Siri's answer is "Sorry, I cannot help you with that on iPad".

Thanks!

After six months, we've got the following (cryptic) reply from Apple on our ticket:
"We have additional information, we added data for low power and high power devices."

asking us to check if it solves the problem.
So - your feedback would be more than welcome, only let us know the iPhone model, iOS version and the language you tried.
Thanks!

I've tried it many times now.
if I say "open 3CX" - opens 7 out of 10 times.
if I say "call 1234567 using 3CX", he answers 6 times that he can only call one contact, and 4 times that the application has not been found and needs to be downloaded.
the same thing if I say "call Ivan with 3CX"
IPhone 11, IOS 15.2.1, language "Russian"

Update: after another four months, we've got the following reply from Apple, presumably due to iOS15.5 release:
"We believe this issue has been addressed. Please let us know if you're still encountering it."

So... let's check - your feedback, again, would be more than welcome.
Thanks.

@Vali_3CX
Nothing has changed.
I've tried it many times now.
if I say "open 3CX" - opens 9 out of 10 times.

Since Siri prints the text I'm saying, I noticed the following: if I just ask to open 3CX? then it prints "Open 3CX" I am working correctly. If I ask her to call, she types "... with the help of three si ex" and cannot make a call. If I use the keyboard to replace "three si ex" with "3CX", then a successful call occurs.
Perhaps this is due to the pronunciation of 3CX in Russian. Earlier it was the same for the "Open 3CX" command, but after about 100 attempts and corrections using the keyboard, Siri began to respond correctly. Perhaps even now training is required.

This seems to now work pretty solidly for me with dialing "using 3CX". It never worked for me before.

My only problem now is on the Siri side. I created contacts on my phone named "Page Office", etc. When I ask her to call "Page Office using 3CX" (or "Page <any extension"), she tries to call a woman in my contact list named Paige. This seems to be an Apple problem, though, not a 3CX problem.

My workaround is saying "Call 801 using 3CX" which works. 801 is a "page entire office" group. Using "call *7101" results in 3CX trying to dial "star101" instead of "*7101". Maybe that is a 3CX implementation issue. As you can see, we do a lot of intrercoming. This is a really handy feature for using with CarPlay to reach someone. Unfortunately, I haven't memorized the entire extension list yet!
