I'm posting this for your comments.
I've found the Holiday settings feature in 3CX to be confusing.
I finally did a little testing to try and reason it out since I have not found good documentation on this feature.
I would be interested in your feedback to see if I have it correct yet.

1. Scheduling Holidays in Settings/TimeZone/Configure Holidays tells 3CX to use Out of Office Hours (this is documented)
2. "Play holiday prompt when it's a global holiday" can be enabled in two different places:
a) On SIP Trunk or
B) On individual DIDs via Inbound Rules
3. In the Holiday setting mentioned in #1 above if you specify a Prompt this Prompt will be played and the system will offer the options contained in the HOL DR but it will not play the Prompt of the HOL DR
4. If you leave the Holiday Prompt empty then 3CX will play the Prompt of the HOL DR and offer the options of the HOL DR.

What I had hoped to use but could not find was a way to set a Holiday AND a Prompt like "We are closed for the Holiday" and then send the call to ANY DR where that DR's Prompt would play and offer the options of that DR.

Hello @12494

1. Scheduling Holidays in Settings/TimeZone/Configure Holidays tells 3CX to use Out of Office Hours (this is documented)
2. "Play holiday prompt when it's a global holiday" can be enabled in two different places:
a) On SIP Trunk or
B) On individual DIDs via Inbound Rules3.
All 4 points mentioned here are correct and that is how the system is designed to work. The one thing i would like to add to the above is that if the option "Play holiday prompt when it's a global holiday" is not set under the trunk / Inbound rule settings then the call will reach the Out of Office destination of the trunk and will not route to the HOL IVR. That provides additional flexibility in certain scenarios.

What I had hoped to use but could not find was a way to set a Holiday AND a Prompt like "We are closed for the Holiday" and then send the call to ANY DR where that DR's Prompt would play and offer the options of that DR.
You will need to use the Call Flow Designer to create more complex call flows. Please note that the Call Flow Designer requires Pro or Ent licence.
