Hi,

trying to setup a Yealink CP920 as a hotdesking phone. But CP920 is not listed in the hotdesking module. Do I miss something? I want to place the CP920 in the conference room, and colleague, who is occupying the conference room, can login using their 3CX account, if they want to use the phone.

Thanks.

Hi @kartofeln

You are not missing anything, we only support hotdesking on the specific Yealink models you see in list.

@JohnS_3CX: any plan, when Yealink CP920 will be added to the hotdesking list?

Hi @kartofeln

There are no plans to expand the hotdesking list for now. We mainly add deskphones as you have probably noticed.

what is a common config for a conference phone, where multiple user can use it? configure it a separate extension number? but then, users can not control the phone using web or desktop client. And the callee will see the extension of the conference room but not the personal extension of the caller

Hi @kartofeln

There is one possible solution you can try which does not involve provisioning the device in 3CX, but still use it for calls.

The CP920 has Bluetooth mode and it can be connected to your PC to act as a regular "mic and headset" (requires a pc/laptop with Bluetooth)

Since the PC now sees it as headset, you can login into your own webclient, and under the audio settings select the CP920 to be your mic, speaker, and ringer.

You will still have to make the call from the webclient and control everything from there, but you can still make a conference call this way.

If you want to try it, let me know if it worked successfully.
