I've received a complaint from a client that their greeting is being cut off. I've seen a couple other threads related to this but neither really proposed a working solution. One suggesting manipulating a file in a file path that does not exist on our 3cx server, the other provides instructions on increasing "MAXVOICEMAILDURATION" which only increases the length of recording someone is allowed to leave as a voicemail.

Is it possible to increase the limit on the voicemail greeting for the digital receptionist?

Hi,

can you please provide some info

  • 3CX Version, e.g. Standard Annual 16.0.2.910
  • Server OS, e.g. Debian 9 / Windows Server 2012 R2 / Raspberry Pi
  • Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where?
  • IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware
  • Provisioning Method: Local / VPN / STUN / SBC
  • Trunk Provider or Gateway Make/Model
  • Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES / NO
  • Are custom Phone Templates being used: YES / NO

Calls go to the main DID of this company and they are routed through a DID rule to the digital receptionist. I actually called the main line myself and I currently feel what the client is reporting is not true as the recording was not cut off for me and it is 48 seconds long.

They are going to re-record the greeting because they have other changes they want to make.

Based on the questions you're asking, is the length of the wav file alone what determines the length of the greeting? To put it another way, is there no limit to the length of the IVR/digital receptionist greeting?

Regardless of version and specs... is it possible to change the limit of the greeting length if there is a limit?

If you have already a 48s message before going next step , you have patient callers, quality for customers is not to make roots on automatic forwardings but to have most quickly humans with good knowledge answering their askings.
This is good way , not stay one hour listening commercial blabla....

Unless you are that kind of business, who let you wait as long as possible on premium numbers.

Hi,

The only limitations are as seen here: Format WAV (PCM, 8 kHz, 16 bit, Mono, Max size: 100MB)
