How to change PBXExpress Azure installation from 16 sim to 4 sim

New installation of 15.5 via PBXExpress on Azure. Wish to downgrade from 16 sim to 4 sim plan. I saw on another post regarding a non-hosted Install it’s simply a matter backing up the configuration, releasing the FQDN to the license, purchasing another license, reinstall, then restore from backup. This method means the possibility of losing the FQDN.

Is it the same procedure for Azure PBXExpress? Is there a possibility that I will lose the FQDN? I can not afford to lose the FQDN although it is unique and I doubt anyone would want it as it’s our company name and a non-profit.

Also how do we buy commercial tickets without having a reseller? I have applied to be a reseller a week ago but haven’t received an answer. Need to go straight to 3CX for support but can’t see where I can buy support without a reseller number to enter.

The latest release has the ability to change license key. Provided the new key doesn’t have a fqdn assigned this will work. Go to the license tab on the dashboard and use the feature. Much easier than older releases.

As mentioned by @CentrexJ if you are running the latest build you are able to change the licence key through the management console as long as the new key doesn't have an FQDN assigned to it.

Just navigate to Settings / Licence and click on Replace license key.

What is the best way to obtain a 4SIM key. This is a PBX Express trial that will role out to production. I remember having the "basic" option when I first went through the PBX Express wizard but chose "standard" not exactly knowing what it meant. I see as you have stated once I have the proper key, changing versions should be fairly straight forward.

So do you mean 16 SC standard to 4 SC standard? The easiest way to do that would be to wait 366 days from license activation. Can't think of any other reason why you would want to try to downgrade unless you are looking to go from 16SC Standard to 4SC Pro or Ent

Please note that the free version is a standard version key with 16 simultaneous calls. After the first year if you do not renew the key the key will "drop" to 4 simultaneous calls and maintenance will automatically be renewed. If you wish to use a different version of the key then you can go to this link: https://www.3cx.com/ordering/pricing/

Thankyou CobalIt and Yiannish_3CX. I'll wait for the annual renew and automatic downgrade of service. I'm nervous that the service will stop instead of downgrade, but I trust that has been tested thoroughly. I'll resurrect the thread in a year to let you know how it turned out.
