I have a DID that was assigned to a user. It was working fine. That user now has an assistant and wanted a ring group for her DID. I removed the DID from the user, created a ring (hunt) group on extension 802 and assigned the DID to that. The original user and her assistant are members of that new ring group.
Inbound rules look good. Dialing extension 802 from within the PBX works as expected. What happens here is if you dial the DID for group 802, the call gets routed to the default SIP trunk route. I tried changing the rules order without success. Here is the gotcha. If I remove the ring group and re-assign the DID back to the original user. That no longer works either. Calls get routed to the default still.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Regarding your question, check the DID you entered under the SIP and create an inbound rule for, matches the format in which your VoIP provider sends the number.

For example, if the provider sends the number in E164 format, e.g., +123456789, and you have entered the DID as 23456789 or 123456789, then it will not match the DID to route the call to the required destination and instead use the catch-all route that is entered under the 'Route To' section fo the main trunk settings.
