Increase Productivity & System Efficiency with 3CX V20, Update 3 Final

I find it unfortunate that they removed the option, in the statistical reports, to view data on an hour-by-hour or month-by-month basis.

I think you will be happy with the Grafana integration which is planned. You will be able to schedule your reports at any time, as many times per day as you want, till your SMTP server throws the towel in!
Looking forward to the Grafana integration! Curious, will that live on the same 3cx server or require another VM? Any talks of creating a full Recording Management UI for agents, supervisors, managers, etc? Also, I see the storage is currently set to 1 location for Backups, Recordings, etc. And the Voicemail transcription requires Google Storage. Any chance of having in future those to be separated so Google Storage could be for Transcription and Backups could be SMB/FTP/local? The Google Storage works fine, but just wondering if maybe in future could be separated? Thanks in advance. I am liking all the new features released.

The transcription can be done with OpenAI as well, so you dont need to rely on Google for the transcription. This will also allow you to perform an analysis of the calls as well and get a sentiment score from 1 to 5 as well as a summary.

Then you can store your stuff on any storage location available, like SMB FTP etc.

It will most probably be a different server that talks to 3CX to get the information. The 3CX server should ultimately be tasked with only processing calls and not bogged down with handling the extra load of data analysis.

Very very minor thing... but wondering if others notice too. Whenever you're editing extensions or call handling items, if you're on page 2 or more, after you save it takes you back to page 1. Super annoying when you doing load of changes to ring groups all at once.

Like i say, veeeeeeerrry minor, not that bothered. But would be amazing if it remembered what page you're on.

MULTI-EDIT

It is not possible in multi-edit to change status of multiple extensions, like in V.18 (button STATUS).
This functionality is heavily used by admins of some of our customers and lack of it is preventing them from upgrade to V.20.
Please reconsider bringing back all functionalities from V.18 in Update 4 of V.20, to make system usable.

EXPORT/IMPORT EXTENSIONS

It is not possible to export and import extensions in V.20 like in V.18 -- many fields are missing, for example related to SIP authentication. For example, if you need to recreate extensions for some reason, earlier was possible with export to .csv, edit the file and import back, now this option is useless -- you lose all information about IP phone, specially DECTs, etc., you need to recreate them manually and to edit DECTs, etc. This is pure nightmare, I have customers with more than 1000 extensions. The workaround is editing the backup file, but still this is not vital as solution.

Please consider bringing back this functionality in Update 4 of V.20

Oh. That is great. I will setup OpenAI for the transcription and then use the local storage for backups. Thanks for that. Sounds good on the Grafana separate VM. We are ready for it. Thanks for the info!

This is indeed a problem!

Still not seeing the option to update to v20 even though I am on v18.9 (Build 31) and Windows Server. Or is this a completely new installation? All of my readings still pointing to selecting update but there are no updates listed.

and Windows Server
Windows doesn't have a direct upgrade path, one must uninstall, reinstall, restore. Or create a Debian VM and restore there (since Windows will require an Enterprise license).

Thanks! Wanted to be sure.

All good, but you better bring back normal reporting capabilities instead of this useless crap since v20

It seems to me that Grafana is paid. Unless it's included in the 3CX package?

You will be able to use a variety of services, also cloud ones, including powerBI. Or install free version of PowerbI locally we are still working on it.

Grafana sounds great. I would add though that I would really love to see what we had in 3CX V18 reporting at least coming back. I have a few customers that it is very difficult to sell the idea to that the reports that they have been using and relying on they suddenly cannot have after the upgrade to V20. I have quite a few customers telling me to postpone the upgrade to v20 as long as possible due to not having a lot of the reports from V18 and not having the flexibility for setting run times etc and reduced reporting options in general.

It will use the timezone of the Department that the extension has its "Main department membership" set to.
Why don't 3CX just re-introduce the option to set the time on each scheduled report that we had on previous versions (before v20). Creating multiple 'virtual' report users, in different time-zones, seems like a poor workaround and to achieve something that worked before. Also, what happens when Daylight Savings Time happens?
