An automatic update failed with the error:
You don't have enough free space in /var/cache/apt/archives/

df -h indicates there is only 22M free on /var and 401G free on /home. /home contains only lost+found. What is the best way to resize the partitions?

Supported way would be backup, reinstall and restore.

I've successfully resized partitions with gparted.

Hmmmm. This problem arose after my upgrade to 18 borked. I reinstalled and restored earlier this week. The install set up the partitions. I wouldn't expect repeating the process to help.

Can't install gparted due to the same problem, insufficient free space..

Hi @UnConundrum2,

Where is most of the space being taken up? Do you have a lot of recordings?

The partition is only 9.2G. Looks like 1.7G is used by voicemail. I'm attempting to clean up some of that but it still seems unreasonable that the partition is so small with 400G available in /home.

As a temporary solution, why not copy the voicemails / recordings to a new location such as (/home/recordings/) and then change the recordings location from /var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Recordings/ to the /home/recordings/ folder. Before deleting the recordings from .../Data/Recordings/ check that they're still playable, downloadable etc using the /home/recordings/ path and once confirmed - delete the recordings.

That'll buy you the space to install anything else you need to assist you with your repartitioning project here.

Remember to always take backups before doing any deleting on the back end.

That sounds like a great solution but where do I tell 3CX to change the path for VM? That doesn't seem available in Parameters.

Hi @UnConundrum2,

Apologies for the confusion, I was referring to recordings in the response above:

You can check the space you'll save from the Dashboard:

Voicemails are unfortunately not able to move partitions and be read from another location.

Would a symlink work?
