I know v18 is still RC, but I can see more and more people migrating PROD env to v18.
Im considering the same later this month - mainly because Im finding new Desktop Client more user friendly

People who migrated (and have more then 5 users :) ) - I wonder your opinion - any major issues?
Upgrade / deployment issues ? What is end user experience ?

No. It is official release now.

You can upgrade as long as your instance was originally created via PBXExpress or the 3CX ISO. If you installed manually, I recommend spining up a new server using V18 3CX ISO and restore your backup on there.

Is it ? I missed this info on website somehow!

I've installed PBX from Debian's ISO (on physical box) - so I guess this doesn't qualify as manual install
I understood that clean install is recommended vs version upgrade - but what about end user feedback ?
Should I afraid quality / stability issues ?
A lot of my users use WIndows SmartPhone app, v18 brings quite big change in that area (Desktop client is web app in fact...)

PS. Ive asked in other thread but didnt receive answer yet - can I use v16 Windows client with v18 ?

Yes.

As above, you can still use the old app. Or have them use the new one. Important note: remove the Chrome/Edge extension as this one is no longer supported.

There are no known issues beside some UI fixes.

Upgrade works well on Linux. On Windows it is recommended to uninstall/reinstall.

It qualifies as Supported Installation method. So yes, you can just upgrade.

Make sure you have a backup of your 3CX, just in case.

Try updating the system, via updates in the management console.

If this fails, start from scratch and use the new V18 iso image and restore from the previous backup

Thank you Guys!
I'm no convinced to go. (I can leave without chats / reporting)

I do not afraid upgrade itself - I have full weekend to resolve that :) I do more afraid about call quality / stability issues.

BTW How about roll back (in worst scenario)? I heard license downgrade back to v16 requires some support from 3cx. If true then downgrade cant be done out of hours ..

EDIT:
To downgrade back to v16 you would have to use the same key on a v16 Installation within the first 30 days of upgrading to v18. This will automatically have the key downgraded to v16. That said, if you do want to revert this specific installation back to v16, you would of course need a v16 backup to restore the configuration so I suggest you keep one before upgrading just in case.

If you do not do this within the first 30 days you will not be able to rollback as the License Key will remain a v18 License Key.
