Hello,

We have a specific application which sends a customized SIP Header to our 3CX System.
Through Wireshark I can see that the custom header reaches 3CX correctly.
Is it possible that 3CX forwards this exact header to our VoIP Provider?
I tried many different values in the outbund parameter settings, but none of these retained the values of the original header.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am afraid this is not possible. The PBX will only use the headers available under the outbound parameters of the trunk. Any custom headers will be ignored.

Thank you for the reply.

Would it be possible for example to modify the P-Preferred-Identity header in an application and let 3CX forward the SIP package without altering this header value?

What we're essentially trying to do is to only modify the Preferred-Identity header from calls which are generated by this application and leave all other calls untouched.

I am not aware of a way to do that. 3CX will "fill" the SIP headers based on the value selected for that header. There is no custom header which will let you forward a custom value

I think a true SBC (like an Audiocodes) would fit this requirement. They will give options for either termination and re-creation of the SIP session (SIP normalisation) or transparency of the call dialogue depending on the option you set.

Or just connecting directly to the SIP trunking provider, bypassing 3CX.
