Hi guys, so i have installed 3cx, the free version successfully. My ultimate target is to use 3cx to receive calls on my android and a queueing system (when more than 1 are calling, the person waiting should listen to a custom message, instead of busy tone). Right now, i am looking to buy a landline UK number and connect it to the 3cx. Which is the best place to fetch a number? I tried with my sipgate account but sip trunk didnt work.

You can use a UK trunk or get Telnyx or Twilio and use their worldwide service.

Firstly, for Queue functionality you will need a Pro license rather than Standard.

In terms of where to get a number from, you can contact one of the SIP providers listed on the following page:

https://www.3cx.com/partners/sip-trunks/uk/

Or you could go through a local partner who would help to setup the system, host it and provide the lines you need.
Yes, i will obtain a Pro licence once i am ready to implement the things i need. Im currently in "learning mode" :)

I want to do the configuration by myself.

It's a really exciting technology to say at least!

You could get a trial of Pro or Enterprise as well to try out the features you're going to want?
sure i will as soon as i am more comfortable with all the new terminology!

So, i bought a twilio number thanks to Frederick, and connected it to my 3cx. It shows green light, so i guess i did the right thing. Now the outbound rules are a bit tricky. I receive calls, i cant make calls! I checked a few threads in here about outbound rules, but none of them helped me. Any advice? :)

So what do the logs say when you try to call out? You will want to set them to verbose before trying.

I am not sure where i can change to verbose (i went to settings -> parameters and searched for verbose and changed the value from 2 to 6), but my 3cx android client when i call a uk number in any format, i get a toast message and it says forbidden

You want to change the activity log to verbose and look there to see why the calls aren't working

Thank you very much. I managed to find where Activity Log was (in front of my eyes lol), and changed it to verbose (which took the cpu to >40% load, compared to 4% before).

I followed the logs and i managed to make a call.

In my case the problem was that in Outbound Rules, i didnt add the Extensions (i added the extension group DEFAULT - all of the extensions), and now it works perfectly fine!
