Live chat to replace Teams for very small business?

Hi all, I'm the owner of a bed & breakfast with a small team of 5 people. We need simply a) direct messaging between me and the manager- 2 people only, and b) then one team "channel", as Teams calls it, where the whole team can chat. We use Teams for this now but I am seeing an opportunity, perhaps, where 3CX can be our "all in one" communication solution which would let me remove Teams and simplify the collection of apps we use.
I'm not familiar with 3CX "live chat", can it be the internal "Teams-like" chat like I described for a very small business to use for internal chat?

3CX has group chat, but doesn't have any kind of reply/mentions/reactions/etc.

I don't think it can replace Teams chat unless the communication need is really basic.

As ConceptWeb stated, you can use the chat tab, then start a couple of group chats and choose who is in each one.

Much to my surprise, a client of ours with close to a thousand extensions has over 374,000 chats in their system (compared to their over 1 million calls) and uses it heavily like this. With Microsoft unbundling Teams for new subscriptions, I wouldn't be surprised to see 3CX chat get more and more use by clients.

@SweetAction If there is no reply function in the group chat, how is your client finding it useful? Do they use it for announcement-type posts that don't need replies/reactions from the group?

You can reply no problem. It's full 2 way chat.

What I meant is replying to a specific message like in Teams or Messenger.
