Lunch Extension

Hello all,

I am trying to configure a lunch voicemail from the times 12:00 to 13:00 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. So far, I have created a dummy extension to transfer the calls to, however I am having difficulty getting the calls to route. I have set break times during the hours of 12:00 to 13:00 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays under the settings in my Office Hour settings in my 3cx web client and have also tried creating Exception rules under each of the extensions in the ring group that route the calls to the extension during the lunch hour, but the phones will still ring as normal. Any suggestion or tips are appreciated!

To add a little more to this, we use a Ring Group with the ring-all strategy, we want to send calls to a lunch message from 12-1 during those 3 days. most of the postings on this are 2+ years old and do not seem to work.

If I'm not mistaken, the lunch break (intended as break time in Timezone & Office Hours Settings) only works for calls between extensions and not for calls from trunks

it appears you are correct, so how do we handle routing calls from 12-1 for lunch? we need to have a lunch voicemail from 12-1 but i cannot see a specific way to do this.

Hi,
i think this is a way (see the picture).
You can also configure specific times for each trunk (take a look at the bottom of the trunk screen). Remember that if configured these override the generic hours in the Timezone & Office Hours Settings screen

If you need to be able to route calls to multiple destinations depending on Time Conditions within In Office hours I would strongly recommend having a look at our guide here.

It still involves utilizing a dummy/routing extension but in conjunction with Forwarding Rule exceptions.

Please let me know if you have issues applying this type of configuration for your use case.
