I have a few clients that use the *179[1 or 2] option to start and stop business hours in 3CX. However, this functionality does not seem to change the routing of ring groups or digital receptionists.

My set up is as follows:
Trunk Default Route => "Open" Digital Receptionist with "When office is closed route to" => "Closed" Digital Receptionist

If I set office hours in the department, the above routing works. If someone manually puts the system in or out of office, the above routing does not.

Is this a known bug or do I have a bad set up somewhere?

I saw that post, but I assumed it was talking about a dial code for a user to override the system value. Is there documentation somewhere that indicates this feature has been removed?

I wouldn't expect the "3CX Phone System is now in Out of Office Hours" recording to respond to *1792 if the feature was removed.

You're not using https://www.3cx.com/docs/pbx-dial-codes/#h.665f9ex1w4m3 ? (which yes I know still says it's available but is dated 13 months ago) What dial code (name) are you using as *179 then?

3CX has posted many times about the out of office dial code being removed in v20, including the post linked above. I think it's due to office hours being a department setting and no longer a company setting.

Yes, that's the one I'm using - it's DIALCODEOUTOFFICE in the custom parameters list and when dialed still gives the 3cx recording confirming the change has been made.

So there is no manual way to control this via a simple toggle anymore?

AFAIK the two options are using the web client, and the script.

I'm okay with using the web client, but I don't see a way to manually toggle it on or off - just with hours which won't work. Did I miss it somewhere?

It's here if the user has a sufficient role:

Thanks - I'll see if this will work for the clients complaining
