We have a v16 Install which is having issues today. Yesterday there were 101 extensions setup and 2 call queues. We had reports this morning that multiple phones were unregistered.

  • There are around 90 missing extensions in the extension list
  • 2 call queues are missing
  • No historic backups are listed

Is this a common symptom on v16 upgrades?

I have a v15 backup from March this year which it looks like is my only option to restore. Can anyone please provide a download link for v15 and v15.5 for use on Debian?

most important info - no it is nothing common - so it needs to be checked specifically to your install.

Did someone delete the extension by mistake?
Has someone restored another backup into the instance?
etc...

Also please ensure the Restore Schedule has not been enabled by mistake:

10742

Only access to the admin portal is by myself so sure there was no extensions deleted manually or backups restored.

The restore schedule is set to be disabled.

The VM is hosted in Azure - no changes have been made there. Was installed in March 19 and been running ok since then, automatic updates are enabled.

I do not have any other backups in place at a VM level. Only the 3CX inbuilt backup from when I migrated the instance to Azure. Most likely going to restore this older backup.

Is there are archive of previous software versions? Not sure if I can restore my v15 backup into a v16 install?

Backups of V15 can be restored into V16, we have done it.

You mentioned you migrated. Any chance the old instance is still running and has redirected your FQDN there? You would be looking at a different PBX in this case, explaining why there are missing elements.

No the old instance was take offline just after the instance was migrated in March 2019.

Surprised no one has asked why you haven't taken a backup since March 19th.... Would have made this thread a lot shorter :)

I had the 3CX backup schedule set to run nightly with 30 day retention. The few times I checked the directory the files were building up and I got the confirmation email nightly. So thought all was well.

Have enabled VM snapshots now as a secondary measure.

Out system was upgraded on Wednesday Night. Thursday I we to update the firmware on some Desk phones which failed at the same time I noticed that at least 32 extensions had disappeared however they were still Groups and Queues. on V15 I could see all extensions and managed them. after all its my phone system

Our reseller resolve the Firmware issue but the went on to say he could see all the extensions. After remoting onto my PC and seeing what I was seeing he agreed that something had gone wrong. The reason whey he could see all extensions was that he was logged in as a Super user with Higher rights then myself.
