Hello,

When I click on the messaging tab and select Facebook and SMS I'm only given the option to add Facebook and not SMS.

The option was there previously, a couple of months ago, but now it's completely gone and I'm not sure why.

This is on the Professional product on version 18.0 (Build 418)

Thanks for your help,

GP3

The SMS options have all moved to the SIP trunk now, and routing is handled the same as for the DIDs. Please take another look at the "Setting up SMS" guide.https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/sms-text/

We have a Sansay switch and therefore we are the SIP trunk provider. There is no tab for SMS under our trunk, possibly because we use the generic/voip provider option. Is there a way to roll back the software to an earlier version that keeps the functionality under facebook/messaging as before? The SMS option is a big selling point and we would need to use our Cisco/Broadsoft instead if it is no longer available on the 3CX.

Well I am not sure how you were doing SMS previously as custom SMS providers we're not supported in the old way either. Maybe you are using Bandwidth downstream, in which case its fully supported and just need to reconfigure it.

In any case you need to a provider that has implement SMS according to our VoIP provider requirements

Hey Nick,

We used Telnyx previously and the text process worked perfectly. Since we are a VOIP provider we route all of our own calls inbound and outbound. Since the feature has been moved to the SIP provider the SMS/Text process is now broken in the 3CX so we are stuck moving all those customers over to our Cisco/Broadsoft switch. It also means any future customers we setup that want (but may never use) texting features have to be setup in the Broadsoft instead of the 3CX (where the 3CX is usually more cost effective for us)

Not sure why they couldn't have left the option in both places instead of moving/breaking it and leaving us scrambling to move everyone.

Hi Mark,

Well if you are using Telnyx then you are not a VoIP Provider? Its not broken in 3CX, its just in the way you have worked it.

You can still use Telnyx if you want, albeit supported by Telnyx. You can configure the SMS option at Telnyx trunk level.

I have several V18 U5 and I dont see the SMS option under a current Trunk or if I create a new one am i missing something pls ?

Yes, the list is here for UK https://www.3cx.com/partners/sip-trunks/uk/ and you will notice only Wavix has SMS

There is also the international providers list which includes Twilio: https://www.3cx.com/partners/sip-trunks/worldwide/

Please contact them directly to get details about SMS, but first read our linked configuration guides on Wavix and Twilio to get an idea on how its done.
