Hi,

We recently noticed that the Emergency Call GSM Dialer toggle within the settings for the 3CX IOS App is missing. We believe this toggle used to be available since we did extensive testing on iPhones and Androids for diverting emergency calls to the caller's local PSAP. We cannot find this toggle anywhere anymore in the 3CX app settings or within the iPhone settings for the phone app or for the 3cx app. Can anyone tell us where this toggle is and if it has been removed. We need to be able to divert calls using the GSM dialer due to how our phone system is set up and also for emergency call forwarding reasons. More information is listed in my replies to this post below.

Thank you!

I can confirm this. Calling emergency numbers routes via 3CX instead of GSM as it should with the warning.

Hi,

Just to clarify what warning are you referring to? Do you mean that there should be some sort of notification when a 911 call is placed from within the 3CX app? Also, thank you for confirming that we are not the only ones who can't see or use the toggle feature anymore.

We are working on it, we noticed this also quite recently, unfortunately the API inside has been "deprecated with no replacement" by Apple since iOS 16 for privacy reasons. That mean the AppStore version 20.0.2 works OK on iOS15, but not 16+.

a) 911 calls from the 3CX mobile app are supposed to be diverted to the cell phone so the cell phone service can send GPS data with the call. 3CX of course cannot and the 911 address would usually be the office address.

b) In Settings/General/Emergency Numbers/Notifications one should configure chat and/or email and/or a call to appropriate parties.
https://www.fcc.gov/mlts-911-requirements
"When a 911 call is placed on a MLTS system, the system must be configured to notify a central location on-site or off-site where someone is likely to see or hear the notification."

I see, thank you for letting us know why this button has disappeared. We will keep an eye out for any 3CX updates and make sure our emergency call notifications and call rules are updates per what SteveITS recommended.

Thank you all for your help,
