I have a hard time getting multiple trunks to work. All of my approaches have failed so far. Thus it it time to ask for help.
My settup is as follows:
Trunk 1: SIP Provider with registration
Trunk 2: Second SIP PBX, IP-Based without registration

Outgoing calls are working fine, incomming sometimes, but mostly not.
I have started to do some tweaks on incomming rules, without success so far.
Wireshark Traces show that 3CX is requesting proxy authentication on incomming calls
and thus the calls obviously are failing.

From my point of view, this is a quite simple setup and 3cx should be able to match both trunks without problems,
since one uses the providers domain in host parts of headers and the other could be matched by the host part of the contact.

Any help is welcome.
Regards Bernhard

Hi,
is it a new installation never working? or was it working fine and not now?
If outgoing calls work fine with both trunks it seem good settings, may be problem is on incoming rules side?
Can you let us know how your incoming rules are set?

Hi Bernhard,

Try using the Call Source Identification option in the Inbound Parameters Tab of your trunks. So long as you can find something unique value, you should be able to get it to work.

The below document might give you some more insight on how 3CX works for inbound calls
https://www.3cx.com/docs/sip-trunk-inbound-calls/

Hi John,
Thank you for your fast reply.
I am aware of the mentioned document and I went thru it several times.
What I was finally trying was to identify the trunks by the host part of the contact fields,
with no success.

In the meantime I have been able to make it work. The solution was to change domain of the trunk of the 2nd pbx to
the ip-address of the 2nd pbx itself and to completely DISABLE SI on both trunks. It works now, but reading thru the
3cx document it makes no sense to me. But anyway, as long as it works, I am fine.

P.S. IMHO, an option to set individual port per trunk (as on other pbxs) would greatly simplify the whole trunk selection process.

Thank you again for your help
