I'm having trouble with getting Caller ID to show up on outbound calls. Inbound Caller ID works great, Outbound calls can be made just show up as either "Unknown" or "No Caller ID"

I have tried a variety of changes to settings in both Flowroute SIP Trunk settings as well as in 3CX configuration Outbound parameters.

In 3CX SIP Trunk Settings
(...my3cx.us/#/app/siptrunks) for Flowroute I have entered in the "Default Caller ID" setting under "Caller ID"
(...my3cx.us/#/app/trunk_editor/1/formatting)
for Flowroute I have entered in the "Default Caller ID" setting under "Caller ID"

In 3CX SIP Trunk Outbound Parameters I have added / modified a few values as per some suggestions about SIP headers from Flowroute support.
(...my3cx.us/#/app/trunk_editor/3/outbound_parameters)

[See attached]

I have tried to run some packet capture from the router to see what is being sent out, I don't see these SIP header values anywhere - not sure if I should be able to in the traffic logs. I see other stuff related to the call origination (e.g. I can see the number I'm trying to call a Verizon Cell phone # in the headers request being sent out.... )
Now that I'm writing this should I try some sort of packet capture at the 3CX site????? Hoste AWS-Lightsail instance?)

If anyone has any insight or best practices/next steps to try to resolve it would be much appreciated? When I did the initial install I basically just left all of the settings pretty default and set up accordingly and most everything else just 'works' but the Outbound Caller ID has been a bugaboo for a couple weeks.

Thanks!!!!

By The Way Here is some info about Flowroute CNAM Lookups that are happening....:
I have CNAM Storage set in DID settings
I see CNAM lookups e.g.

2019-04-3018-$0.07020000 N/A
2019-04-2942-$0.16380000

Here is a response I got from Flowroute Support about this.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Brian,
We transmit Caller-ID as we receive it from your equipment in one of the following header fields (in order of preference): “P-Asserted-Identity”, “Remote-Party-ID” or “From”.
CNAM is a reverse lookup done by the receiving caller, so while most provide this service, not every carrier will honor it.
Additionally you might find your answer in our articles on how to configure your 3CX system to work with Flowroute, please see the our Knowledge Base articles under:
https://support.flowroute.com/customer/portal/articles/search?q=3cx
Kind regards,

Ok, so I found out the logging system to get the detailed logs from 3CX system.

https://www.3cx.com/docs/collecting-logs-for-3cx-support/
and
https://www.3cx.com/docs/capture-network-traffic/

I ran those and am trying to determine where might be the best place to look for

“P-Asserted-Identity”, “Remote-Party-ID” or “From”

I can't find these header fields anywhere in the extended logging info.

I would think I can see the SIP connection/INVITE method somewhere along with other headers somewhere???

Thanks if anyone else has suggestions for where to look for this. Happy to answer any questions about my setup.

3CX v16 + Flowroute

Thanks!

the 3cxManagementConsole.log shows excerpts like this during the connection attempt

Code:
IsOutbound=True
IsInbound=False
DialedNumber=
ExternalParty=201MYNUMBER
InternalParty=
Status=Dialing
...
    AttachedData:sip_displayname=FrontDesk Main
        lookup_displayname=FrontDesk Main
        chid=0000016A93FA637C_1
        prevCall=0
        prevLeg=0
        [email protected]
        extnumber=201MYNUMBER
        devcontact=sip:100@MYIP:14875
        directcallctrl=1

2019/05/07 16:27:01.507|10440|0007|Dbg|MYPHONE: Ext. 100 EXISTING CONNECTIONS:
UPDATE:

Call state: 1.1 DialingOutgoing

    Started 5/7/19 8:27:01 PM - Connected
    Owner: Extension 'FrontDesk Main' 100 [100]
    Capabilities: 1

Also I note the below log entry although I am not sure if this is just a possible parameter that can be set(?):

2019/05/07 16:27:39.465|10440|0024|Trc|Untouched node Parameter for object Wparameter.95: HIDECALLERIDINFO - This information will be send in the INVITE instead of the Outbound Caller ID Information, Used in conjunction with HIDECALLERID parameter with owner <null>.<undefined>

(I gathered after a little closer reading of the CNAM thing is an Inbound thing so isn't relevant in my case)

Thank you very much for the reply!

I set up with the "Flowroute" selection in the Add Sip Trunk settings. Is that what you mean by a template?

As an added measure to "reset" everything I actually just today recreated the whole Flowroute SIP trunk (regenerated a new password on the Flowroute side for the new connection - although I do have Authentication set to Incoming -> Inbound Only since I set up IP based authentication)

Once I got all the Extensions reconnected with Inbound and Outbound rules I get the same behaviour.
Inbound caller ID comes in OK. But Outbound Calls have variously "Unknown" or "No Caller ID"

I have set the number for CallerID I want in each Extensions' settings

I have both set and unset the field:
Default caller ID
Configure Outbound Caller ID

I tried with no modifications (All Fields below User-Agent String were "Leave Default value") and then modified the "P-Asserted Identity" fields.

The From Host Part is set to GWHostPort by default
per Yannish from the other post
The default template for Flowroute has the From: Host part set to "GWHostPort" Gateway/Provider Host/Port which is the correct setting. Without the correct information in the Host Part the provider might discard the From SIP filed all together. The weird thing is that it ever worked before.

Is there something I need to check re: the "Host Part"? other than what is here?

Thanks you!

Definitely confounding to me as if it should "just work" given that Flowroute is supported infrastructure.... and not sure if anyone else had issues before with this?

I have also tried setting per @craigreilly the field
From : Display Name

10618

But still no luck :(

Here are the Trunk Settings attached also.

Any other suggestions? Where else can I look to get a better idea of what is happening? I feel like I should be able to see these fields being sent out to Flowroute in the SIP packets, is that true?

Thanks again to anyone with an idea. Definitely hurting business as it's hard to get calls picked up with no Caller ID (and we're not even selling anything with our calls) - just trying to reach existing customers! :)
