It is the free cloud. Every indication is that it's a linux VM. If I run updates it says that it is up to date, so it's the latest. I believe 15.5 Update 3.

Please note that on SP3 and above on free 3CX hosting instances a hosting admin account is created so this limits the access of the administrator. This is done because as this is a free account the administrator does not have access to the OS of the system. So if a template change or a parameter change for example causes a crash of the system then the administrator is not able to access the OS the fix the issue. To be able to have access to these options you need to install 3CX on your own instance. Please find more info on the hosting admin account in the link below

YiannisH, that makes perfect sense. Thanks for shedding some light on this one, I was going crazy. I will create a new instance on Google Cloud and transition everything over. Hopefully restoring a backup from the old one will work on the new one.

As an IT guy, I prefer the idea of Infrastructure as a Service as opposed to Platform as a Service anyways.

Glad i could help. Restoring a backup from the free instance to your own will not carry over any hosting admin information so all options will be available to you.

It is always recommended that when restoring to a different server / environment your backup should not include licence and FQDN information.
Once you restore the backup you will be asked for a licence key. If you use the same key you will automatically get the same FQDN you used before.
