I have taken over the 3CX system for our company. Previously it was set up and managed by another member of our team. The set up of the Queues, IVRs and some of the Extensions were all done in a bit of a rush and lack uniformity. I would like to clean up some of this mess and introduce a cleaner system with uniformity to why thing are assigned specific extension numbers. Remove some old queues and identify if there are any dead ends in the phone tree.
I have completely built out our tree in a diagram and the new tree I would like to introduce. My questions is, what is the best way to start doing this? Should I build and test these new queues and IVRs in the production environment and label them test. Leaving the production side alone completely until my new set up is tested and verified all the way through? Or has anyone set up a test 3CX server and configured a tree and some how moved the phone tree to a different server? I am just at the beginning stages of this project and am looking for suggestions on the most efficient way to complete this task.
