it is their number so should stay working as my number wouldnt work even after the text
trying with theirs "We could not verify your number." this system seems more grief than is worthwhile is there a better company?

I use both Twilio and FlowRoute. Both work just fine with 3CX. Are you US based?

no UK i think that is what is causing some of the grief as i have removed the number and added again with the UK dial code and now the number is ringing out to one of my phones.

but i still cannot get any calls to leave my phones when i try i get the message "
Msg "Invalid Caller ID."
ErrorCode "32204"
LogLevel "WARN""

Do i need to make the same incoming rules as i had to make for outgoing rules for the E164 problem?

No you shouldn't need to, unless you have the need to route calls for a number to a specific extension/ring group/queue or IVR. Otherwise the settings under the trunk is 3CX should be sufficient.

I followed this from 3cx but cannot find a uk one i think this is the main issue but cannot see how to get it working "

Additionally, some outbound rules need to be created. As Twilio operates internationally you may need to update the list below to cover the “user's dialing pattern” in order to fetch each and convert it into + e.164 numbers. The sample below is for an EU customer (00), Germany (49), Hannover (511).

I am not familiar with UK dial patterns, but I would assume if you swapped in +44 in the example it would work. Might be someone on the forum that could offer a better solution.

I did swap that for the +44 but it didnt work and now its switched to "
Msg "Trunk CPS limit exceeded."
ErrorCode "32001"
LogLevel "WARN"

i dont think it works in the UK

does your system work with their sip in its current format?
yes
just confirmed. its actually my backup provider. primarily used for SMS via custom apps.

Twilio can only place calls to verified Phone Numbers during the trial if I recall. You have to fund the account.
It's been a bit, but thats what I am remembering.

I am still not getting any further, their support send me a message overnight with nothing useful, I send back and repeat. I have bought one of their numbers and tried everything, it just doesn’t work and the logs on either end are pointless. Anybody installed a successful sip from them in the UK?

I am beginning to favour freshcaller or yay.com and just not bother with self hosting

I had the same issue. I started to test this and cannot get outbound calls to work, I created a credential list but no matter what i put in it, everything is ignored and now i cannot remove the list and inbound calls have stopped

The credential list doesnt work at all no matter what you use it just switches the sip off, the only thing that does work is the "do not require ip based".

My fault just constantly keeps saying "
Invalid Caller ID.
Error - 32204
SIP: Invalid caller ID
Possible Causes
  • The supplied caller ID has not been verified for the account.
Possible Solutions
There is only their number in the system which is guaranteed to work as caller id i think it is to do with it trying to ring from the UK. I have tried various formats of the number in "caller ID" but nothing works and their support only replies in the early hours of the UK so this has been failing since Monday

in the free version you can only send caller IDs which you own (Numbers in Twillio). The format is et164 so +44XXXXXXXXX
Ensure that no extension or line ID uses a format outside this or a number which is not with your twillio account.

I only have their number, i have tried all the formats of the supplied number in the caller display section and also gone back through the process of adding the number as trusted by ringing and entering a code. still no outgoing calls using this sip

Please double check your termination SIP URI and make sure that it matches in the PBX and in Twilio's interface. Also check the credentials list and make sure that you the correct FQDN is entered. Everything you need to do to setup a Twilio trunk are outlined in our guide for Twilio.
https://www.3cx.com/docs/twilio-elastic-sip-trunking/
If outbound calls still fail the run a capture from the PBX and make sure that the outgoing number is the correct one.

I managed to get it sorted out its all working now

Glad to see the issue has been resolved.
