We are currently using the built in Paging Ring Group with the intention of notifying employees if/when there is a building emergency. The idea is it will never/rarely ever get used, but for safety reasons, feel it is important. The ring group works exactly as intended with a few caveats I was wondering could be changed.
1) 3CX App users also get notified. This isn't a huge deal, but I didn't know if there was a setting to disable this for them.
2) The ring group is simply an extension. We've already had users accidentally hit the speed dial and/or dial it by accident. We've also had people call it back seeing they had a missed call from PGXXX.
3) I believe it could be called by an external user if they happen to know the extension.
4) We just had a building page occur, but it's not showing in the call reports as previous ones have. It was an outside caller, so I'm not sure if they dialed the extension or if they got transferred as there's nothing in the logs.
In an ideal world, the paging would be limited to just internal phones (both from making and receiving pages).
Thanks for any/all help anyone can offer!
