Hello,
1) I understand 3CX does not have this functionality built in/support this setup
2) I know others have asked about directing outbound calls to specific lines on a Patton, I believe this is a bit more complex than the previous info provided would help with.
I have a client that has POTS lines from 2 different provides, one they use for local calls (7 lines), the other for long distance (2 lines), besides their SIP trunks.
I'm trying to find a way, if possible, for the lines to be grouped so that the client doesn't have to select a specific line for each outbound call.
I'm thinking this could be done by having the user prefix the number with a digit or by having the Patton direct the call to the correct group based on the number of digits dialed.
Idea 1 Example: If the client prefixes the dialed number with a 9, 3CX strips the first digit and then routes the call to the Patton gateway, Patton starts at line 0 and checks for an open line up to line 6. If the client prefixes the dialed number with an 8, 3CX strips the first digit and then routes the call to the Patton gateway, Patton starts at line 7 and if busy uses line 8, if available.
Example 1: If the client dials a 7-digit number, 3CX routes the call to the Patton gateway, Patton starts at line 0 and checks for an open line up to line 6. If the client dials a 10-digit number, 3CX routes the call to the Patton gateway, Patton starts at line 7 and if busy uses line 8, if available.
Do any of our more experienced Patton users know if either of these options are feasible?
