I am a newbie here and hope this is just an oversight on my part and may need new glasses. Have 3CX up and running and have for the most part configured 5 Snom SNO-D765 phones via SipTrunk services. I still have some things to figure out but am having an issue I did not expect. When I put a call oh HOLD via the hold button on the phone it started a new call and I hear a dial tone in the hand set. I had not manipulated any special settings other then those associated with the inital setup so I am thinking it might be something specific I have to change for the phone that I am using but when I access the codes section I have not found any reference to the hold key... thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Did you program the phones using the 3cx Template?

I do believe I did that is why I am surprised the hold button has an issue...

Did you factory reset the phone?

I have never used Snom - so I can not say what the default behavior is.

And, when you hit hold and get the dialtone - in the 3cx WebGUI - do you still see that call as ACTIVE ?

I am not at the phone at this moment as I recall it does put the call on hold for the function works but the dial tone on the handset is not expected. I am able to return to the call. I tried to see if it was an active dial tone my placing a call but it was not... very strange

I just did a test with my wife who is home with the phones and had her receive my test call on 3 other phones in the system. They all put the call on hold but you are left hearing a dial tone after the call is placed on hold. Since it is occuring on all phones it must be a setting no?

What is the actual problem? A common scenario for putting a call on hold is so you can make another call no? So if you hear dial tone, you can now make another call. If you don't want to hear it, hang up the handset?

Hum...? is that the way it is supposed to work? When I put a call on hold I expected the phone to be slient and the old PBX systen did not do that so yes maybe my expectations are off?

So the issue is regardless of inbound or outbound calls when I put it on hold but it presents the user with a dial tone that is not usable. I think maybe I need to be using the park feature? I saw something about orbit parking feature??

Does it something to do when configure extension phone you need to setup if you don't response phone in timing time been set then it will call to next available number either your mobile or etc. Depend on your setting

Sorry too early in the morning that post is wrong... From any extension and regardless of incoming call or if I make a outbound call when I hit the HOLD button the caller is placed on hold and the hold music plays. On my extesion phone I have a dial tone and can not turn it off. I just tried again and I believe what is happening is it is waiting for me to send the call on hold to a call parking extension? Yes I think that is what is happening .... when I hit the HOLD button it gives me a dial tone waiting for me to send the call to another extension or maybe to send it to a designated Call Parking extension? Looking now for details on how to setup call parking....

So I'm not sure what you mean by unusable. What exactly are you trying to do? You can't hang up the phone?

I think I missed a setup or something. Initial install is with 5 extensions and one common voicemail box. It for a small office of 3 employees so there main user is the office manager. I have been asked to keep it simple and have all unanswered calls end up in the voicemail box of the office manager. So far that seems to be good unless there are 2 simultaneous calls. If there are one gets routed to the extension and can be answered the other goes to voicemail - a problem for later. I figure that is because there is no digital receptionist setup at the momenet and I think this is part of my issue with the HOLD fuction. When a call comes in any extension can answer it however if we want to put the call on hold it asks for 2nd step, to transfer the call somewhere.... I believe I must configure a BLF with the Transfer function and then have someplace to send it to... this might be the parking feature??

I still don't know what you are trying to accomplish. What is the goal after putting the call on hold? Are you trying to emulate a key system with share line appearances where when you put the call on hold all extensions see if? If so that doesn't work on 3CX. If that's what you are trying to do then yes you want shared parks with buttons mapped on each phone.

Yes that is what I am trying to do. I tested and found out that if I hit TRANSFER + *01 the call is parked in slot 1. To get it back i hit *11 and the call returns to the extension. But now I need to figure out how to setup each phone so that each extension can see when a call is on hold... I am using Snom SNO-D765 phones

I think I got it... went into 3CX console selected phones then a phone and then BLF section and added 4 Shared Parking keys for each phone. Did that on each phone - now each phone has the linke key in green when empty and blinks red when a call is parked. Thank you for helping me sort this out. Now back to the simultaneous calls issue I mentioned earlier.

I must still be missing something. If 2 calls come in at the same time one gets to the phones the other gets routed immediately to voicemail box... still reading..

in extension did you tick accept multiples calls?
