Playing welcome message?

Hello everyone,
I am testing a new 3cx with my first analog trunk (via ATA). I configured a simple ring group, and I set it as "Destination for calls during office hours" on this trunk.
Ok, it works.

I wonder now, what is the simplest way to configure a wav prompt during the ringing time... I mean, the call would start to ring on the Ring Group while the caller would listen to the welcome message. Is it possible?

And another basic question, can I play a prompt.wav for "Destination for calls OUTSIDE office hours"???
Will I have to use a voicemail.....or can I play some Recording file like I used to play in FreePBX?

You want to use queues rather than ring groups then.
Queues have additional options that you may find interesting



As for the automated message outside office hours, you can set a Digital Receptionist to play it for you, and forward calls there outside of business hours.

Thank you very much JohnS for your answer. So, I need the PRO version to play a prompt message while ringing?. Is that the "Play Intro Prompt" that you showed in that image?

Yes, queues require the Pro edition and give you a number of extra features.

Thanks JohnS, by now I am dealing with another tips, like extensions over vpn, I will write another post.
