I had been using some Polycom 7940 phones and even though they were unsupported they were working fine.

Then the server I was using to self-host 3CX crashed. I've just been able to get 3CX back up and running and I've discovered I'm not able to provision my Polycom phones anymore.

That's very disappointing. I'm currently using this for a home-use type learning environment so I don't expect any support when things don't work as expected.

At any rate, it appears it's time to move on.

When I look at the list of available phones it seems overwhelming.

Can someone suggest a phone that's going to work but not be too expensive?

I do not currently have a SIP provider. I've been making calls between extensions so far.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Look at anything from the Fanvil V series or X_U series, and Yealink "U" series that appear in the below guides
https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/

You can even get 2nd hand ones if you don't mind that. These are their latest and should be supported longer than other models in case you plan on keeping them long term. If not, then anything from Snom, Yealink, Fanvil which is not EOL should be fine.
