Hi,

We'd like to know if it's possible to remotely turn on the microphone to listen/talk to end-users without alerting them. Is there an intercom feature in 3CX where doesn't alert the end-user that they're now being listened to?

I see the intercom feature exists, but not sure if it's possible to disable the alert.

Is there a 'snooping' feature that allows you to turn on the microphone if a 'malicious admin' wanted to eavesdrop on communications happening within the company?

We are using this information because we might have a malicious employee in our organization and need to know what is and is not possible using 3CX.

Thanks,

No. Absolutely not possible.

Intercom/Paging will trigger the phone beep tone and also a "In Call" status on the phone UI.

Other than that, unless the person is already on a call, then there's no way. If the person is on a call, a manager or user with BargeIn rights could listen/whisper/barge-in in a call. However, those features are only accessible through the Webclient IF the user has the right.

Ultimately this is not a 3CX thing but rather up to the individual phone manufacturer. That being said, I don't know of any currently support handset that will accept an intercom request quietly because of the privacy concerns. That being said, it doesn't stop someone from using the intercom to connect to a phone in a room before it is occupied and then listening in. You won't hear the initial audible tone since you weren't in the room, but you would see a line in-use and something on the phone display as @Frederick Marcoux mentions.
