Hello! I am upgrading to version 20 next week and I have a question about my IP phones. Most of our hard phone are provisioned via the local IP interface (ex.http://10.1.1.1:5000/provisioning/xxxxxxxxxxxx). When we upgrade to version 20 will these auto re-provision or will I need to do something manually? Is the provisioning link updated to the FQDN? If so, as a test, if I can provision a phone locally on our version 18 install with the FQDN, will I be good to upgrade without needing to re-provision my phones?

Thanks!!

Details:
On Prem: Yes
Version: 18.0 (Build 31)
License: Professional Annual

While it is recommended to have everything provision using an FQDN and using split DNS, you can still provision your IP Phones locally using the IP Address. So migrating over to Version 20 should not be an issue.

Thanks for the feedback! Our partner was telling us that was a requirement of version 20 and I needed to manually reprovision our phones to the FQDN before upgrading. But you're confident that when we upgrade if the phone is on prem and provisioned with the local IP and we have a Hairpin NAT configured, we shouldn't need to use the FQDN for all the already provisioned phones?

This was the original plan during the early development of Version 20, but now if you go and provision a local IP Phone on an on prem system, you will see that the option for the IP address is available.
