Hi,

Ran into a problem trying to provision a Cisco SPA 514G handset. I've followed the guide here https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/cisco-spa/ and using the latest firmware 7.6.2F. Configured my DHCP scope with Option 66 using the provisioning link in the string value. Don't appear to be getting anywhere unfortunately.

Any help or troubleshooting advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Those phones are legacy. The latest supported firmware is 7.6.1. I'm assuming you are trying to connect to a cloud instance and those phones are not supported for STUN or SBC.

No, local installation.

Ahh then you should be ok for that. Have you tried manual provisioning?

Some DHCP servers are pickier than others when it comes to string values for options. Manual provisioning would at least confirm that everything is correctly setup on the 3CX side of things.

Manual provisioning done the trick. I suppose this points the finger at DHCP option 66 not doing its job. Can you suggest any way to troubleshoot that? It's not the end of the world as I'm only needing to add another half dozen handsets but it'd be nice to know where it's going wrong.

Thanks for your help!

You can capture on a switch via port mirroring, and restart the phone.

You should be able to see the DHCP traffic there hopefully. I believe you can also filter for boot options.

Thanks John. I'll give that a try.

Just to clarify, it is the whole path of the provisioning link that needs entered in the string value? Not just the server name/IP?

Please provide more info on your setup

First step change the firmware to 3cx support version 7.6.1 as per info in the above link

Did you extract the files in the zip files to the root of the folder ?

Anything in the event logs of 3cx, to identify what is going on

Sorry Saqqara, completely missed this yesterday.I tried rolling back the firmware version without success. Already had extracted the files as per the guide. Nothing in the event log.

Hi Scott,

Ensure that the phones are using our specific firmware, I don't know if you current firmware will behave as per our guides.
