Hi,

I'm trying to configure a new GXW4104 gateway to our 3CX installation and I'm following instructions from this page:

https://www.3cx.com/voip-gateways/grandstream-fxo/

In step 3 they said that I need to copy the Provisioning Link after entering the gateway IP address. The problem is that there is no provisioning Link at all when I'm adding the gateway in my 3CX server, we are at version 15.5.

When I click the "Generate config file" button it downloads a file to my local computer, and I don't know what to do with it, as there is no option in the gateway web interface to upload or import a config file.

Thanks.

Hello @intelcompras

Please make sure you are running the latest 3CX version (V15.5.15502.6) as that is the version the gateways were added to the PBX. When you add the gateway to the PBX there should be a provisioning link under the general tab of the gateway settings. If the provisioning link is not visible make sure that you are using a supported browser and clear you browsers cache.

Very important to ensure you are not on the BETA version of 3CX and have updated to the latest/full service pack 6 (which was out this week).

As Yiannis says the full version should read 15.5.15502.6 on your 3CX dashboard.

I myself experienced a few similar issues with Grandstream gateway provisioning on the beta version.

Thank you very much, I already configured the gateway manually and is working.

Just to let you know, I never install beta updates, that is why we still are in update 5, just this morning I received an email from 3CX about the final release of Update 6, so this weekend we will upgrade to it.

Now I'm working to fix the calls sound quality as there is a lot of noise and the Caller ID because all incomming calls are displayed as "unkown".

Best Regards,
Rafael

Hi Rafael,

Check first that caller ID has been applied to this/these lines - in most cases this is an additional paid for service from the provider.

Also ensure the lines are not running redcare or featureline services (PBX like services) that companies like BT provide.

Unfortunately the Grandstreams where very cost effective do not provide any real in-depth troubleshooting like the Patton gateways do, they are quite basic in my opinion.

Thank you eddv123, we know we have the service active as it was working with our patton gateway, the reason we moved to grandstream was because we have had 2 patton gateways broke up already and we wanted to try another brand.

Once you upgrade to the latest version where the template for these devices is included i would recommend re-provisioning this device using the 3CX default template and see if your issues are resolved.
