Patched up to 16.0.1078 and now my log is filling with push errors. It was all working before the patch. Anyone have a suggestion. Firewall checks pass and all inspection is off on the firewall. The only change was the latest patch.

  • Failed to send APNS PUSH to device iPhone12,8Matt’s iPhone(Ext.44). Internal exception occured: The SSL connection could not be established, see inner exception.

    PUSH sender ID: 50020 01/15/2021 5:42:31 PM
  • Failed to send APNS PUSH to device iPhone9,2Apple(Ext.39). Internal exception occured: The SSL connection could not be established, see inner exception.

    PUSH sender ID: 50020 01/15/2021 5:41:54 PM
  • Failed to send APNS PUSH to device iPhone11,8Eric’s iPhone(Ext.32). Internal exception occured: The SSL connection could not be established, see inner exception.

That's never the only change :). And if the update broken Apple push, you'd see a lot more complaining on the forums. Is your Windows 10 up to date? Is there anything else running on that box or is it just 3CX?

It's up to date. 3CX is the only thing running on it, was a fresh install maybe 8 months ago....it's firewall is off. There were no push errors in the log and I ran the update and now there are push errors.

Check the border device / firewall for any ssl inspection or similar named security service (dpi etc...) that would interfere with the ssl communication between the pbx and Apple push servers. This is the most common cause of this type of error.

The error you are getting is telling you that SSL cannot be established and this can mean a number of things

- Firewall is blocking blocking you from reaching APNS server
- Windows Server: Ciphers missing and connection to apple cannot be made
- Windows Server older than 2016 (or unsupported version of the OS is being used)
- Windows Server: Are you running any antivirus software that blocks 3CX or broke the update?

I suggest you check all the above scenarios, and I would not automatically assume that it is just the update that is at fault here because it has been confirmed to work with Apple Push before release so you have to check all other probabilities now.

Please let us know what you find and we can advise further if needed.

We're also receiving the same errors but currently, we have the Debian appliance.

Whats interesting about our issue is that while the error is being generated, the app itself isn't installed on the user's mobile device.

You need to check first, if you are on the latest update of 3CX.
Then also go through what is mentioned in replies #6 and #7.
