Solved Push notifications on Android

Hi everyone,

On another thread, @StefanW confirmed that mobile apps do not use SIP signaling, but Push Messages. (reference here: https://www.3cx.com/community/threa...interface-for-provisioning.75840/#post-343946)

Here is a behavior that I have noticed:
An extension left unused for a couple of hours (maybe days) on a mobile, will stop appearing as registered under the Phones tab and will stay red under the Extensions tab.
As a result, unless the user "frequently" uses their extension on the mobile app, it will end up unregistered.

What is the maximum interval an extension can be left unused on a mobile app before it ends up being unregistered?
What is the keep alive interval that it uses in order to communicate with the PBX?

Perhaps this is better summarized on the very generic question:
How do push notifications work?

Any piece of advice is more than welcome.

I have a scenario where the user does not want to allow the usage of the extension outside the LAN.
As soon as the mobile phone user leaves the local Wi-Fi network, the extension's forwarding rules should be applied (extension turns unregistered). In this scope, it would help to know the keep alive mechanism used in Push messages, i.e. how soon the PBX knows where the extension user is. Could you provide more feedback about that?

there is no persistent connection between our APPs and the PBX unless the app is opened.
